Resources Unlimited Employee Runs New York City Marathon

Resources Unlimited Marketing Manager, Amy Hoey, completed the New York City Marathon on November 7. This was her fifth marathon and by far the largest she's participated in with over 44,000 finishers.

"Every marathon is amazing, but there's something particularly special about New York. The incredible number of participants, volunteers, and world-class professional athletes, running through all five boroughs, and the fundraising efforts that were tied to the race - it was an honor to be a part of something so huge." NY Road Runners & Crowdrise—a website that Edward Norton started—hoped to raise $1 million per mile for charity—$26.2 million total.

They crushed that goal, raising over $30 million. Amy joined the American Cancer Society Charity Team to raise money in memory of her mom who passed away in 2001.

"I usually look forward to a break after a fall marathon, but after setting a PR at one of the greatest marathons in the world, I'm feeling inspired to sign up for another one this year!"
