DiSC Personality Profile Test to Improve Productivity

The goal of training is to teach people specific skills and methods they can use to modify their behavior. In order to make these changes you first need to help people understand their own personality and behaviors.

It's a very common scenario to discover that employees don't realize the impact their behavior has on others at work. It's also common to find that employees make little attempt to understand their peers. A DiSC personality test can help improve our understanding of ourselves and others, which in turn will help to increase productivity in the workplace.

DiSC® is a model of human behavior that is designed to help people understand “why they do what they do.” The behaviors identified in the DiSC personality test are Dominance, influencing, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness. These behaviors make up the DiSC personality model and interact with other factors to describe the typical behavioral styles of individuals.

Personality type tests may be used in a one-on-one coaching setting or in classroom training. DiSC helps teams and organizations establish a common language to help reduce conflict and encourage better communication and understanding of one another.

Many organizations use the DiSC personality assessment test as a diagnostic tool to help begin the process of uncovering reasons for communication or productivity issues. Sometimes differences in personality are accepted by others and may even complement each other. But oftentimes, teams find that these differences may also cause confusion and frustration. DiSC will provide a framework to help employees make sense of differences so they can learn what to expect from others and develop strategies to address motivation, conflict, and communication challenges.

As employees read the results of their DiSC personality profile and participate in learning activities with their coworkers, they begin to recognize and capitalize on the personal motivators that drive them. They'll better understand how they react when in conflict and the impact that has on those around them. They'll also learn to appreciate the diverse needs and preferences of others and how to adjust their communication to meet the needs and styles of those around them.

Through dialogue and discovery DiSC helps employees begin to see the connections between style and communication. This will in turn help team members relate to one another more effectively and keep misunderstanding to a minimum. As a result, employees will have the tools and the language they need to resolve past grievances and avoid unnecessary conflicts in the future. 

Once individuals have a solid understanding of themselves, they can then use that knowledge to recognize the DiSC personality and needs of others. With insights about style, behavior, and motivation as the foundation, DiSC personality profile tests helps pave the way for a more productive work environment.
